Some documents are mandatory for IIT JAM Admission. Candidates should keep a PDF copy of the following documents -

1. XII or HSC Mark sheet
2. Qualifying degree: Mark sheets of all semesters.
3. Document for General Category:
   National Certificate: Birth Certificate or Voter Id or First page of passport or TC
4. Other Documents:
   
   (i)   Category Certificate for OBC(NCL), SC, ST App
   (ii)  PWD Certificate for PWD Applicants

IIT JAM Procedure for Seat Allocation

The seat allocation is done in 3 rounds.

1. First Admission Round
    
2. Second Admission Round
    
3. Final or Third Admission Round

1. IIT JAM Admission Round - First

First Admission Round list for each programme will be prepared by the Organizing Institute is announced through JAM 2016 website/ SMS/ Email.

After Receiving any information Once offer is received, Applicants can log into official website and go for further process. 

There will be three option available there.

(i) Accept and Freeze:

By choosing this candidate will accept allotted seat and will not go for further rounds.

(ii) Accept and upgrade:

By choosing this candidate Will accept allotted seat and would like to upgrade it in further rounds

(iii) Reject and Quit:

By Choosing this candidate will reject the allotted seat and would not like to go for IIT JAM Admission.

2. IIT JAM Admission Round - Second

The seats remain vacant after First round than the organizing institute will prepare a second round seat allocation.

3. IIT JAM Admission Round - Final

If the seats remain vacant even after the second admission process is over, the Organizing Institute will prepare a Third and Final round seat allocation.
